Going Down

Running with the weight of gold I heard it said
Is just as hard with the weight of lead.  (Grateful Dead)

You are a steward of all you may own, the car, the house.
The dog, the cat, your ten gallon hat.
Recent Quake/ Tsunami posed the question.
What if tomorrow it was gone?
Would it be free and liberating, after the initial shock.
Our would you be hopelessly lost with out all your "stuff".
A man I know is struggling to hold on to all his possesions right now,
Because of the economy, because of the path he chose.
He appears happy but what a weight he must hold.
It is a wait and see if it will bring him down.
I often wonder if possesions really sate a person.
Or is it the next distraction waiting to go down.....

  1. Ohh, yes. There comes a point when you realize you don't own your stuff, your stuff owns you. If you're lucky, it comes soon enough for you to do something about it and improve your quality of life.

I know I feel a powerful spring cleaning/clean-out coming on. I need my space!
